🎉 Your August guide is here!

🎉 Happy almost August, everyone! I’m here with your new guide for the month. Enjoy!

Tips for a Better August

It’s Going To Be Really, Really Hot

August is typically the hottest month in Austin with often a near constant string of triple-digit days. That means you need to drink your water, wear your sunscreen, and take lots of breaks in the shade!

Go Shopping

Texas’ tax-free weekend is Aug. 7-9, so that means it’s time to shop. Whether you’re shopping for school supplies or a wardrobe refresh, a lot of items are on the qualifying list to be tax free. You can find the list of qualifying items online.

Pack in Your Summer Fun Now

Summer is slipping away, y’all. I know temperatures will be hot through at least October, but if you’ve been meaning to spend long days at the pool, or nights grilling out, now is the time. Go to The Drop-In one last time, see the Zilker Summer Musical before it ends, and watch the bats while you still can!

Jumpstart Your Fall Garden

August is the perfect time to get started on your fall vegetable garden, officials at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension say. You should plant your okra, Swiss chard, and other fall vegetable seeds indoors under grow lights this month.

👋 Have a great weekend! I’ll talk to you in August!
