🌭 It’s finally hot dog season

July 1, 2026 · Kelsey Bradshaw

🎆 Wahoo! Welcome to July! We’re officially in the thick of summer and we’ve got lots to do. Let’s get into it! 👇

Tips for a Better July

Austin’s Mayoral Pet Election Is Underway

Voting starts today in Manor for Austin’s pet mayoral election. Paws to the Polls is a countywide initiative to have people practice voting before the November election. You can vote today at the Manor Community Center or on July 25 at Baker Building Cafetorium in Austin. The candidates are Franklin the Dog and Gus the Cat.

Watch Out for High Temps

The weather is heating up, y’all. Austin has not yet had its first 100-degree day of the year, but it could happen soon. We usually see our first triple-digit temperature in July, so that means you need to take more breaks from the sun, apply sunscreen often, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

In-Season Produce Still Rocks

Is July the best month for produce in Central Texas? Watermelons, peaches, okra, tomatoes, squash, sweet corn, leeks, and so much more are all in season this month. Happy shopping!

Antone’s Is 51

Antone’s is celebrating its 51st birthday this month with lots of celebratory shows. Soul Man Sam, Jimmie Vaughn, John Primer, Carrie Rodriguez, Bob Schneider, and more are all performing at the downtown club this month.

👋 I’ll see y’all out there!
