Second-Largest State Park Coming to the Hill Country

Texas Park and Wildlife has acquired a 54,000 acre stretch of land west of San Antonio that will soon be known as Silver Lake State Park. An opening date has not yet been announced. [KUT]

Mayor Opposes a 2026 Bond

Mayor Kirk Watson recently denounced asking voters for more money through a bond this year, citing Prop Q's failure in November. He suggested waiting to introduce a bond to voters until 2028, but most of Austin City Council voted to move forward with the bond process. [KXAN]

Wine Bar Opening in Hyde Park

Terrible Love Coffee owner Brian Knowles is expanding his Hyde Park coffee shop to incorporate a neighborhood wine bar that will offer natural wines and light bites all day. The bar is slated to open in August and will not allow children or laptops after 5 p.m. [Community Impact]
