📹 Vote on Security Cameras in Parks Postponed
City of Austin officials have pulled from Thursday’s council agenda a $2 million contract for mobile security cameras that would have been used in city parks. The move came as public outcry about the contract had grown louder, including in a protest at City Hall Tuesday evening. [KVUE]
🚓 APD Clarifies How It Works With ICE
Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis told the city's Public Safety Commission that officers must now report to their commander when they call an administrative warrant into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The commander will then decide if the department has time to wait for ICE to arrive. [KXAN]

🪧 After AISD Student Protest, New State Rules
There are new consequences for Texas students, teachers, and schools after Gov. Greg Abbott called for an investigation after Austin Independent School District students participated in a protest last week. Under the new rules, students who walk out must be marked as absent, and teachers and schools facilitating walk outs will be investigated and could be sanctioned. [Texas Education Agency]

😞 Longtime South First Street Restaurant To Close
