🏗️ YMCA Plans Major Downtown Expansion

At the City Council meeting on Tuesday, the TownLake YMCA in downtown Austin proposed expanding its property to include affordable housing, an early education center, offices, and restaurants. The YMCA hopes to break ground in 2028, pending city approval. [KUT]

Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M International University, and Texas A&M University-Kingsville were all beneficiaries of Austinite MacKenzie Scott’s unrestricted million-dollar donation this year. ⚖️ Process Starts to Clear Yogurt Shop Murders’ Wrongly Accused

The Travis County District Attorney has started the process to clear Michael Scott and Robert Springsteen, who were wrongfully convicted, as well as Maurice Pierce and Forest Welborn, who were falsely accused of the December 1991 Yogurt Shop Murders.
