🐶 Happy Monday! Let’s start with some good news: Noodles the dog was found! Taylor Hannon, the dog’s owner and an Austin food blogger, said Noodles was in his car when he was stolen last week, inciting a citywide hunt.

Most of the Democrats in the Texas House flew to Chicago on Sunday in an effort to stop a planned vote today on a new congressional district map, depriving the House of a quorum needed to function. [The Texas Tribune]

Mayor Kirk Watson said he sees a tax rate election as “needed in these uncertain financial times” on the city’s council message board last week. Raising the rate would help the city with its $33 million budget deficit. [City of Austin]
