🚨 City Has Paid Millions in Settlements After 2020 Protests
The city has paid roughly $27 million to people injured by Austin police during protests that broke out in 2020 after George Floyd was killed. In one case, a man had to have an eye removed. [KUT]

🐶 Shelter Needs Help After Storm
Austin Animal Center says it's in urgent need of people willing to foster after a tree fell on one of its kennel runs during last week’s storm. [CBS Austin]
- Austin Wildlife Rescue took in 160 animals after the storm and is now asking for donations to help care for them and to repair storm damage at its facility. [CBS Austin]
🚙 New Tesla Space Is Near Decker Lake
Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. is moving into a 300,000-square-foot space near Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park in East Austin. It’s not yet clear what the company will do at the site. [Austin Business Journal]
