💰 City Needs Millions To Fight Homelessness
To help about 5,000 unhoused people in Austin next year via emergency shelters and other support services, the city needs roughly $101 million, the Homeless Strategy Office has announced. The city may lean on taxpayers to reach its goal. [KUT]
📉 Bond Lowered for Driver in Deadly I-35 Crash
The bond for Solomun Weldekeal-Araya has been lowered from $1.2 million to $7,000. Weldekeal-Araya is charged with five counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault in relation to a March crash on Interstate 35 that left five people dead. [Austin American-Statesman]
