🚨 Austin Explosion Under Investigation
An explosion in far northwest Austin near Jollyville on Sunday morning left six people injured and 24 homes damaged. The Travis County fire marshal’s office is still looking into the explosion’s cause, but officials said no criminal activity is suspected. [KVUE]
✅ City Approves Air Conditioning Rules, New Wildfire Map
Austin City Council members adopted a new map last week that says more than half of the city’s habitable land is at risk of being destroyed in a wildfire. [KUT]
- City Council members also approved a new property code that says all Austin residences must have working air conditioning. [KXAN]
🏈 Arch Manning Ready to Quarterback
Arch Manning, the University of Texas at Austin’s new quarterback after Quinn Ewers, told reporters the wait to take on the role for the Longhorns was worth it. Ewers is NFL-bound. [The Athletic]
