⚖️ DA Disagrees With 90-Day Indictment Deadline

The Travis County District Attorney’s office is under scrutiny after murder suspects were released on low bonds because prosecutors took longer than a long-adhered-to standard of 90 days to process them. 🎒 Kindergarten Vaccination Rates Below Target

The recent measles outbreak has highlighted the low vaccination rates among incoming Austin ISD kindergarteners — 83.67% for the 2023-24 school year, down from 96% in 2020. Public health experts recommend a 95% vaccination level to achieve herd immunity. [KUT]

🎭 Austin’s Broadway Season Lineup Announced

The season will kick off with the first national tour of five-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical “Kimberly Akimbo,” from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5. Plus, expect a Disney musical, a Rogers and Hammerstein’s classic, and several classic shows to hit Austin’s stages this year. [Texas Performing Arts]

🚨 One Killed, One Injured in Fire Truck Crash

Officials are investigating what caused an Austin Fire Department fire truck and a civilian vehicle to collide near the airport Tuesday afternoon, killing one civilian and injuring another. [KXAN]
