Don't Go Gently, Go In Tecovas
For this week’s Don’t Go Gently tip for the weekend, we have something for folks who aren’t going to ACL Fest, but still like to drink beer. Grab some friends and head west, into the Texas Hill Country, to celebrate Oktoberfest in a Texas city founded by German immigrants in the 1840s: Fredericksburg. Follow the sounds of polka music to the festivities at Marketplatz, the city’s main square, for the town’s three-day-long celebration. Gates open at 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. on Sunday, and the music goes until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. There will be plenty of German, Texan and domestic beer on tap, as well as local cider and wine, and tons of German and American food vendors. Don't go gently, y'all, and prost!
