🤔 Texas Ranger Reinstated in Uvalde
The Texas Department of Public Safety has reinstated Texas Ranger Christopher Ryan Kindell, who had been suspended over the law enforcement response to the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde. Kindell was one of 91 DPS officers who responded to the shooting and was accused of not doing enough in the aftermath of the shooting. [Austin American-Statesman]

🍝 City Spending Thousands for Michelin Guide
Using hotel occupancy taxes, Austin officials are spending $90,000 a year to be included in the Michelin Guide for three years. San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth are paying, too. [Austin Business Journal]
🥇 Gabby Thomas Gets Her Gold
Olympian Gabby Thomas, who lives and trains in Austin, won a gold medal in Paris on Tuesday for finishing first in the 200-meter, with a time of 21.83. “You prepare for this moment and train so hard for this moment but when it actually comes, it’s indescribable,” Thomas said. [Associated Press]
