🚗 Beware of Biden-induced traffic

🇺🇲 Biden in Austin

President Joe Biden is giving a keynote address today at the LBJ Presidential Library’s commemoration event for the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act. You can stream his speech online at 4 p.m. [LBJ Presidential Library]

• I recommend avoiding roads between the airport and the University of Texas, where the library is, today. Delays and road closures are expected, and Interstate 35 and Texas 71 may be clogged or closed. If you’re flying out of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport today, keep an eye on flight delays because all flights will stop when Biden is landing and taking off. [KUT]

🎙️ A 20-Year-Old Bracelet and the Next 20 Years

It’s been 20 years of the Livestrong bracelet. City Cast Austin Host Nikki DaVaughn checks in with Suzanne Stone on what the next 20 years of cancer treatment in Austin will be like in today’s episode. [City Cast Austin]

💰 Hard Budget Decisions Ahead

Austin City Council members are expecting budget constraints as they consider additional funding for more parks maintenance, and addressing capacity issues at Austin Animal Center, which closed intake earlier this month. We have a budget episode, too! [Austin Monitor]

Congratulations to Shara Perry for guessing last week’s “Where Is This?” location. The sculpture is located at the intersection of Live Oak Street and South Congress Avenue. Perry included the name of the art piece in her guess, too! This is “Your Essential Magnificence,” by James Talbot.
