🪧 UT Quietly Clamped Down on Free Speech After Protests

An Austin American-Statesman investigation found that the University of Texas at Austin put more limits on free speech and gave more authority to outside law enforcement after pro-Palestinian protests swept the campus in April, leading to more than 130 arrests. [Austin American-Statesman]

🐕 Dog Dies After Swimming in Lake Travis

The Lower Colorado River Authority received a report over the weekend that a dog died on July 4 after swimming in Lake Travis near Point Venture, which is just north of Lakeway. Water and algae samples from the area are being tested. Harmful blue-green algae has been confirmed in lakes Buchanan, Inks, LBJ, Marble Falls, Travis, Bastrop, and Fayette. [LCRA]
